To celebrate his 50th career anniversary, legendary singer/songwriter Chris de Burgh will be undertaking a Canadian Tour in 2026 and will be offering his St. John’s fans a unique solo performance of all his hits, including “Spanish Train”, “Don’t Pay the Ferryman”, “A Spaceman Came Travelling”; “Patricia” and naturally his worldwide hit “Lady in Red” which is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2026.

Your New Year’s Eve deserves something grand… The Grand Affair is JAG’s dazzling new NYE gala: a night where the music never stops, the service glides, and the countdown feels cinematic. Arrive to a reception with hand-passed hors d’oeuvres, then settle in for a chef-curated four-course dinner. Record Club, DJ Cuz, and the Brendan Fitzpatrick Trio keep the room buzzing straight to midnight, when we toast the new year with party favours and champagne!
At JAG, we know the music is important to the vibe and our Gala is no exception. Through dinner, Brendan Fitzpatrick Trio will swoon the crowd with sultry jazz. DJ Cuz turns the dial from dinner to party with all of the crowd-pleasers. Record Club headlines the night with the anthems you know by heart, and the choruses you can’t help but sing.
We start the night with an opening reception where our servers will offer hand passed Oysters with mignonette, Chicken Parfait with sauterne red onion marmalade, and Truffled Mushroom & Goat Cheese Duxelles.
Dinner begins with Sticky Pork Belly cozied up to a seared sea scallop, finished with wine-poached pear and a steel-cut oat pilaf amandine. Followed by a bright Fennel & Orange Salad composed with roasted hazelnuts, ricotta, fermented red onion, fresh mint, pomegranate, radicchio, and dukkah.
The entrée brings together Sous-Vide Beef Tenderloin with a rich braised shin salpicon, paired with creamy pommes dauphinoise, a tender port-braised shallot, glazed cellar vegetables, and crisp garlic greens. A silky partridgeberry bordelaise ties the dish together with a hint of local flavour.
To close the meal, guests will enjoy a Dark Chocolate and Bakeapple Sachertorte finished with coulis, anglaise, and a light moss sponge. Deep, rich chocolate balanced with the brightness of bakeapple makes for an indulgent final course.
